THE BEACH
 

There are beautiful beaches just a few minutes' walk from the holiday home Casa Estrelicia. The steep coasts typical of the Algarve attract many tourists to the south of Portugal every year.

Praia Grande // This beach is the right one if you want to enjoy the sun with the family and children. With the view of the Marina of Portimao, the wide beach offers a pleasant change. The water is mostly calm as a breakwater keeps the waves of the Atlantic away. Sun beds can be rented. Good restaurants and bars are right on the beach.

 

Pintadinho // This beach is located on the Ponta do Altar, a narrow headland at the end of which there is a lighthouse. The Ponta is overgrown with green above and hollowed out by the sea below. At the other end of the beach, the sea has washed a huge cave out of the rock. There is a restaurant, toilet and lifeguards in summer.

 

Praia dos Caneiros // On the other side of the headland you will find Praia dos Caneiros with a beach bar and one of the best restaurants in the area.

Numerous other beaches can be reached by car. For example, Carvoeiro, east of Ferragudo, has a beach with water sports right on the village promenade. Small fishing boats are ready to take tourists to the many grottos, caves and beaches that are only accessible from the sea. The rock walls are full of marine fossils and are very rugged.

 

With over 300 days of sunshine a year, the Algave is almost always ideal for vacation. The coastal location of the house ensures pleasant temperatures even in summer, especially at night with a little fresh wind.

RESTAURANTS

There are also some culinary highlights in the vicinity of Casa Estrelicia (within walking distance) .

Mohle // Not only the food here is worthwhile, the view is also really worthwhile, especially at sunset. In addition to fish and burgers, the salads are very worthwhile.

Club NAU Praia Grande // offers cocktails, seafood and very good Mediterranean and international cuisine directly on the large, sheltered beach in Ferragudo. Sushi lovers get their money's worth in this beach restaurant.

Restaurant Praia dos caneiros // Known for "Kitchen Impossible" you can find high-class, fish-heavy dishes here. Reservation is recommended. The restaurant is located directly on the beach and also invites you to sun down on the roof top bar.

Le Paradies // The rather small menu impresses with many traditional dishes. The aged steaks are freshly cut at the counter and the fish can also be selected. The table must be reserved.

Highlight at the Algave:

Michelin Star Restaurant - Bon Bon of absolutely fine cuisine in Sesmarias de Carvoeiro, Urbanização Cabeço de Pias (about 3.5 km by car). After the reservation, you can expect a special kind of cuisine tailored to your needs.
